As you follow your guide along the Bowery, you’ll pass the site of the famous Bull’s Head Tavern on Canal Street where George Washington set up headquarters, learn about The Bowery’s infamous flophouses, and uncover a rare Beaux-Arts treasure hidden in plain sight.
Saturday, May 18th – Hard Hat Tour of Ellis Island’s Abandoned Hospital
Explore the abandoned Ellis Island Hospital complex which has served as a medical facility, a US Coast Guard base, and an FBI detention center, then was left to decay for nearly 60 years. Now, Untapped New York has partnered with Save Ellis Island to create an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour where you will explore the laundry building, contagious disease wards, autopsy rooms, and more off-limits spaces.

You’ll learn about the largest sex emporium, the freak show where Diane Arbus found inspiration, and the last hot sheet hotel and live peep show while hearing stories of thepersonalities who made Times Square what it was: the King of the Peeps; the slumlord with two suitcases filled with gold and five wives; and the Catholic priest who flew too close to the neon sun and crashed and burned.
Tuesday, May 21st – The Lit Salon: Living Constitutionally Book Launch Party
