Hi, I am delighted to share some exciting news with all of you! Our work has been accepted in a premier journal series of ACM (IMWUT).This is a momentous occasion for me personally and our team, as it is the first timethat my contributions have been accepted in a #research paper.Title : Towards Efficient Emotion Self-report Collection Using Human-AI Collaboration: A Case Study on Smartphone Keyboard InteractionWhile it is difficult to summarize our findings in a post but the crux is as follows:We used the 'Active learning' paradigm of #machinelearning in the context of human-smartphone keyboard interaction to predict emotion. By using active learning, we significantly reduced the rate at which users were probed for emotion labels, achieving a reduction of ~46%. Active learning improved data collection efficiency while maintaining annotation quality.I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to my team members Dr.Surjya Ghosh, Dr.Sougata Sen, Prof.Snehanshu Saha, Ph.DandPrajwal Melath.Cheers!

I have edited yet another blog sharing anecdotes from my 2nd year at IITK. It will appeal to most of the students staying on well-established campuses in engineering institutes across India. There are always patterns to look into.https://lnkd.in/gcmBqmRn

2010 : Started dreaming to prepare for IIT JEE, AIEEE, UPTU but family financial were not that good, so dropped that plan and forced myself to completely get away from IIT type of dreams 🙂2011 : Scored good marks in board exams. Family members, teachers & friends encouraged me to give one attempt to engineering exams but I had a fear of rejection, so I thought let it be & am not made for IIT/NIT colleges 🙂2011-2013 : Wasted two golden years of my graduation, couldn't get into smart educational environment 🙂2014 : With determination and hard work, I eventually succeeded. I gained admission into one of the prestigious NIT's of India, NIT Allahabad ❤️I am grateful for the struggles I faced and the emotional turmoil I experienced. They taught me the value of persistence, hard work, and never giving up on my dreams. If you're currently facing challenges and failure in your education or career, I want to encourage you to keep pushing forward. Your failures do not define you, but instead, they can be used as a motivator to work harder and reach new heights of success.I share my story not to brag, but to inspire others who may be facing similar challenges. If you have a dream, don't let your circ*mstances or your environment hold you back. You can achieve anything you set your mind to, regardless of where you come from or what resources you have access to.It's all about journey not the end result ❤️ Don't forget to check the first comment 👇#motivation #hustle #college #journey

It is truly humbling to witness the success of the IIT-JAM 2023 aspirants as they realize their dreams of getting into their desired institutes. What makes their achievements even more remarkable is that many of the students I had the privilege to mentor hailed from colleges located in Tier III cities. When I embarked on my own journey to pursue my master's degree at IIT-Bombay in 2018, I observed that a majority of my batchmates had completed their bachelor's degrees in Tier I cities, benefiting from the presence of well-established offline coaching institutes and a higher level of awareness about the exam. However, with the rise of online education, particularly accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, an increasing number of students from smaller cities now have access to information and resources necessary to prepare for these competitive exams. This transformation is truly gratifying as a mentor and serves as a testament to the staying power and effectiveness of online education. It is heartening to see the barriers of geography and limited offline resources being overcome, allowing talented students from Tier III cities to compete on an equal footing with their counterparts from larger urban centers.
